The role of the public safety dispatcher is vital in ensuring that environmental crimes, reported to law enforcement, are handled appropriately and efficiently. The safety of the public and the first responders investigating the call for service may hinge on whether a public safety dispatcher is trained to prepare law enforcement in their response to these calls.
