Level II – Instructional Technology Course (16 hours)
This is a fundamental course that introduces students to several different mediums that can be utilized to enhance student learning and acquire essential skills that can be immediately implemented in the classroom. Students will learn through hands-on experience in a highly active learning environment.
It is required for students who intend to complete the Intermediate Level of IDI. Additionally, this course meets the training requirement for the POST Academy Instructor Certification triennial re-certification training requirement for law enforcement instructors.
Laptops are required for this course. IPads and tablets of any kind are not acceptable.

Instructional Technology Equivalency (Alternative Option)
The Instructional Technology class is an “entry level” class that is geared toward familiarizing instructors with the different types of things that they can use in their classroom, and to give them exposure to Word, PowerPoint and MovieMaker. If you consider yourself technology savvy, you can complete the equivalency essay and submit to Marisa Messier for review and approval via email.
The following prerequisite has been established as a minimum baseline for students attending this course:
- Successfully have completed the Basic Instructor Course (AICC), ICI Instructor (ICII) or an equivalency

POST Reimbursement Plan IV: There is no tuition for this course. As of 10/7/2019, travel reimbursement is reimbursable via Training Reimbursement Request (TRR).
Non-POST Reimbursable agencies: Tuition is $116.27. There is no reimbursement for travel and per diem.
