Academy Instructor Certification Course (AICC) Facilitator Course
This workshop brings together instructor development trainers/facilitators from throughout California to identify best practices and approaches in facilitating and implementing the Academy Instructor Certification Course (AICC) across the State of California.
Time will be spent:
- Evaluating current approaches to AICC presentations
- Identifying effective strategies to present AICC content and process
- Exploring the inter-connectivity of the existing course design
- Demonstrating and evaluating effective facilitation skills
Course delivery will occur via a combination of facilitated discussion, learning activities, and a final evaluative and reflective teach-back process that will allow students to envision how their own AICC courses may be most effectively presented.
This course is open to all personnel currently instructing in or planning to instruct within an Academy Instructor Certification Course (AICC).
Course Prerequisites:
The following prerequisite has been established as a minimum baseline for students attending this course:
- Successfully have completed the Academy Instructor Certification Course (AICC), Basic Instructor Certification Course, ICI Instructor Course OR Equivalency

Course Fee Information:
Reimbursement Plan IV: There is no tuition for POST reimbursable agencies. Travel reimbursement is available via Training Reimbursement Request (TRR).
Non-Reimbursable agencies: There is no fee affiliated with this course as long as you are currently instructing within an AICC program. There is no reimbursement for travel and per diem.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received more than ten (10) business days prior to the start of the class will not be charged. If payment has already been made, it will be refunded. Cancellations received ten (10) or less business days before the start of the class will be charged at full price. This late cancellation charge compensates GTA for the non-refundable costs incurred prior to the start date of the course.
No Shows: A No Show on the day of the class will result in a full charge for the class.
