This course provides training focused on enhancing the instructor skills of personnel teaching California law enforcement and public safety dispatchers.  Students will gain facilitation skills and an understanding of how to employ adult learning methodologies appropriate for various public safety topics. This class is  designed for those teaching in-service or advanced training within their agencies POST Instructor Development Institute (IDI) and is a requirement of those wishing to progress through the IDI program. For instructors specifically teaching in the academy, the Academy Instructor Certification Course (AICC) serves as the required POST training for the academy. For instructors specifically teaching within the Institute of Criminal Investigation (ICI), the ICI Instructor Course serves as the POST requirement.

It is recommended that all trainers take the “Learners First” course on the POST Learning Portal prior to attending the in-person class.

Course Fee Information:

Reimbursement Plan IV: There is no tuition for POST reimbursable agencies. Travel reimbursement is reimbursable via Training Reimbursement Request (TRR).

Non-Reimbursable agencies: Tuition is $258.11. There is no reimbursement for travel and per diem.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received more than ten (10) business days prior to the start of the class will not be charged. If payment has already been made, it will be refunded. Cancellations received ten (10) or less business days before the start of the class will be charged at full price. This late cancellation charge compensates GTA for the non-refundable costs incurred prior to the start date of the course.

No Shows: A No Show on the day of the class will result in a full charge for the class.
