Course Description
This course is designed to provide investigators with tools and skills on the basics of tire mark identification and analysis. Course content will include the following: identification of the various types of tire marks, documentation and measurements, terms and definitions relating to tire mark investigation, case preparation and courtroom testimony, determination of coefficient of friction and drag factor, and speed estimates using various equations.

Course Prerequisites:
All attendees must have successfully completed the course pre-requisite of a California POST Basic Traffic Collision Investigation Course. You must email a copy of your certificate of completion, OR a screenshot of your POST profile that shows successful completion of the Basic course to aisaaks@govtraining.com OR print and bring your certificate to the first day of class.
NOTE: The California Highway Patrol’s Basic Traffic Crash Investigation class is not a California POST course that meets the above pre-requisite requirement.

POST Reimbursement Plan IV: Tuition is $549. Travel reimbursement is available via Training Reimbursement Request (TRR).
Non-POST Reimbursable agencies: Tuition is $549. There is no reimbursement for travel and per diem.
